DeanHouston+ has more than 30 years in B2B marketing, with four offices across the country – Cincinnati, Chicago, Los Angeles and Nashville. Our Orland Park office is looking for a Marketing Specialist with agency experience working on digital, print, content, media and video projects. You will oversee projects from beginning to end – keeping everybody on the same page and ensuring all parties have what they need to complete their tasks on time and within budget.

Proactive – We don’t like being caught on our heels. We want somebody who will proactively move projects along because meeting deadlines is incredibly important in what we do. A proactive approach prevents communications falling through the cracks and delaying projects. You will often be the one leading the charge.

Organized – It’s a fast-paced industry and you’ll need to keep everything (and everyone) on the rails. Because you will be partly responsible for your clients’ costs with DeanHouston (managing statement of work, proposals, estimates, keeping projects on budget, etc.), organizational skills that can produce quick answers to clients’ questions is critical.

Curious – Our clients tend to be manufacturing or other industrial-focused companies. We don’t expect you to come into the position knowing a lot about that world. Or anything about that world. But you should be somebody who enjoys learning new things. You’ll quickly immerse yourself into your clients’ products and markets – learning everything you can. You’ll do background research for strategic sessions, creative briefs and general relationship development.

Multi-Tasker – You’ll always be juggling several projects at once (that’s part of the fun), so you’ll need to handle constant information from different clients and different projects – and still be organized and propel the team forward.

Job Duties:

Managing Budget and Projects – There can be a lot of moving parts during a project. Since you collaborate with several DeanHouston departments (creative, media, content, web development, etc.) on projects, you will help lead from beginning to end while keeping everything on budget and on time. Our ability to meet deadlines is one reason that clients love working with DeanHouston.

Communicate and Manage Internal Team/Resources – Considering how many people touch a project, constant (and clear) communication with everybody and properly managing resources is critical. You’ll schedule and manage team meetings throughout a project: it’s up to you that everybody is heading in the same direction. You’ll also work with the account team to understand the client’s business model and provide clear-cut project objectives to the greater team.

Vendor & Timeline Management – You’ll manage the vendor and internal resources in relation to the approved budgets and be flexible to make any changes when needed to keep budget and labor expenses aligned. You’ll need to clearly document and update timelines to keep everybody on the same page.

Quality Assurance – You may be the last person that sees a deliverable before it’s sent to the client. Because of this, you will lead the QA effort to make sure everything is error-free and aligned with the client’s and DeanHouston’s standards.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communication or related preferred
  • Experience: 2-4 years in advertising or marketing position preferred, especially in agency serving in account services or project management position
  • B2B, Industrial/technical marketing experience preferred
  • B2C marketing experience a plus
