DeanHouston+ has more than 30 years in B2B marketing, with four offices across the country – Cincinnati, Chicago, Los Angeles and Nashville. Our Cincinnati office is looking for a Senior Media Manager responsible for building relationships with media contacts and helping spread the word for our clients. You will be hands-on developing strategic media plans and evaluating success.

Personable – You will be the face of DeanHouston for your media contacts. A major part of any media strategy depends on developing and nurturing relationships with media members. You need to be personable and build long-term relationships with them – they should love talking with you even if you aren’t talking business.

Organized – It’s a fast-paced industry and you’ll need to keep everything (and everyone) on the same page. Because you will be responsible for clients’ costs with DeanHouston (media budgets, approving invoices, billing, etc.), organizational skills that can produce quick answers to clients’ questions is critical.

Curious – Our clients tend to be manufacturing or other industrial-focused companies. We don’t expect you to come into the position knowing a lot about that world. Or anything about that world. But you should enjoy learning new things. You’ll quickly immerse yourself into our clients’ products and markets – learning everything you can. You’ll research interesting media outlets and publications to understand the best media fit for a specific client.

Analytical – Great marketing is part-art and part-science. You should enjoy diving into data to analyze how campaigns are performing and how things can be improved. We want to be armed with as much information as possible to make educated decisions and recommendations.

Job Duties:

Building the Business – Strengthening relationships with your media contacts, you will help create and submit insertion orders, issue ad notifications and ensure ads meet quality standards to put our client’s best message out to the best audience possible. It’s a crowded media landscape, you’ll help provide the megaphone.

Managing Budget and Projects – You will manage media budgets, approve invoices and settle any media billing discrepancies. That includes running the entire media placement (ad trafficking), invoicing, billing, and reconciliation processes. You’re behind the steering wheel from beginning to end.

Strategy – You’ll set media strategies, plan and execute media plans and discuss the results of campaigns for our clients. You’ll also present potential media strategies and plans to clients, articulating the benefits and reasoning behind your recommendations.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferably Marketing, Communications, Advertising, etc.
  • 8+ years’ experience with media planning, buying and execution
  • Advertising agency experience preferred, including copywriting and proofing
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing (re-marketing/re-targeting, sit analytics, reporting, email marketing, etc.) a plus
  • Experience with Google Analytics and/or data visualization tools
  • Knowledge of Google Ads, Bing Ads, Amazon Ads is a plug
  • Media buying software experience a plus
  • Experience with SRDS and Kantar preferred
  • Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
